What is a lead tag in a Telegram bot?
A lead tag is a label you put on a lead in your bot to set them apart: who asked for the price, who watched the class, who bought. A lead can have several tags at once.
Don’t confuse this with the member tags Telegram offers in groups. This label is yours, and the lead doesn’t see it.
How a tag gets applied
In Flow4You, there are three ways:
- In a flow: the Action block adds or removes a tag, for example after a button tap.
- In the chat: an operator edits tags right in the conversation.
- By CSV: an import into the lead base marks the new leads it creates with the tag. Leads already in the base don’t get it.
What it changes
- In a flow: the Condition block asks “does this lead have tag X?” and sends each lead down a path.
- In a broadcast: the audience is filtered by tag, with an estimate of how many leads will receive it. See the guide to Telegram broadcast messages.
- In live chat: operators filter conversations by tag.
Example
After a “What’s the price?” button, an Action block applies the tag interested. A few days later, a broadcast goes only to leads with that tag. Whoever tapped “Not now” stays out.
A simple rule: create a tag only when it changes the message someone gets. Too many tags turn into a mess, and soon nobody knows what each one means.
